Scenic Route Vases

Scenic Route Vases are inspired by all the beautiful places that are or could be. One of my favorite thing is to just drive and take the scenic route. All vases are wheel thrown with various stoneware clay's. They are then altered and sculpted with the "scene". After it is dry, I start painting with underglazes to bring it to life before it's last firing. Sometimes they are glazed and sometimes not. The feel of raw ceramic can be amazing. It also allows the painting to stay more vibrant. These vases are something that I have no plan for. I sit down, throw a vessel and then let my imagination run wild as I am sculpting.
